Trading Forex with Forex Broker
The Forex Market is the largest, most liquid investment vehicle in the world. The Forex market itself assists international trade and investment through to the exchange of one currency for another. Globally dispersed, and operating on a 24hr a day schedule, with the exception of weekends. The volume change hands is enormous, creating an average daily turnover of USD $ 4 Trillion, there are no other markets in terms of size to even compare it to.
In a standard foreign currency exchange transaction, one party buys a quantity of one currency by paying with a quantity of another currency. The free floating exchange rate market we are a part of today was created in the 1970’s under the Bretton Woods Agreement. This agreement created the system and set of rules for commercial and financial relations between all major industrialized countries, essentially creating our modern globalized economy.
Before the acceptance of Bretton Woods the majority of industrialized countries had to maintain very tight exchange rate regimes to control their individual money supplies, and currency valuations. Trade between countries has increased since that time, and most countries around the world have gradually switched to the free floating exchange market system.
Like both the stock and bond markets, the Forex market offers many instruments that vary in terms of their actual real liquidity. In order to make it clearer, it should be understood that the most economically and politically stable countries, have the most “in demand” currencies, which makes them the most liquid in the market. The largest industrialized economies in the world, the US, Japan, UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Canada, collectively known as the G7 are considered the most important. The most liquid currencies actively traded in today’s market include; the US Dollar, the Japanese Yen, the British Pound, the Euro, and the Canadian Dollar. Most estimates put the level of activity in these currencies at more than 80% of overall daily foreign exchange volume.
